Easter Weekend

Ok, so this post is pretty much the same as Sheri's, except the pictures are different.

Friday we colored eggs. We usually do this at the park, but we thought it best to do it at my moms this year, that way the little ones couldn't escape.

It was Sheri, Stacy and I along with the kids: Joshua, Michael, Joseph, Alex and his friend Josh, Ben, Max and Evan. It wasn't as crazy as I thought it was going to be. We had plenty of colors so they didn't have to fight over who got which ones.

Max preferred to get the eggs out with his hands, instead of using a spoon. Messy, but effective.

This is Joe on Saturday morning looking for eggs at our house. It is tradition for him to get his easter basket on Saturday.

Saturday afternoon we met up with the Trezise family and the Cameron family for lunch and a game of wiffle ball. Sheri was right, The Cameron's creamed us, and we had more players. Their pitcher/first base combo of Boston and Mason was too much for us.

Max had his own little game going on off to the side. He had fun practicing his batting.

Then it was off to Grandma's for our annual Easter egg hunt and picnic. They announced that this is the last year it is going to be at Grandma's house. I hope someone picks up the tradition next year.

It was fun getting together and seeing everyone. This picture of Evan and Rowan was my favorite of the day.

I also quite enjoyed watching Emmy and Evan eat ice from the ice chest. They were at it for a long time. Sometimes they would suck on the ice and put it back. I hope no one used it for their drinks.

Here comes trouble!

Jumping on the Movie Trivia bandwagon

Ok. So, we loved playing the movie trivia game on Sheri and Jamie's blogs that we decided to be the next ones to jump on the bandwagon.

Ok, so Elise tagged me, a long long time ago. Because I love to read so much, I thought this tag was fun.

This one is called book tag. Here is how it works:

I am currently reading 2 different books that I have with me at all times. So I'm posting them both. The first is from one of my all time favorite books. I have read it several times. I am reading it again for our book club this month. It is "The Thief Lord" by Cornelia Funke. Here are my 3 sentences:

"With only his feeble flashlight for illumination, he fought through the piled-up garbage, climbing over wedged chairs, crates, and broken partitions. It was pitch black behind the boarded-up door and Victor's heart nearly stopped when, by the ticket booth, he ran slam-bang into a cardboard cutout of a man pointing a machine gun into his face. Cursing quietly, he shoved the thing aside and crept toward the double doors that led to the movie theater's auditorium."

They also made this book into a movie, and unlike some books that are made into movies, this one isn't chopped to bits and changed so much that you don't recognize it.


The second book is one that my nephew Adam gave to me to read. I think I've mentioned before that he is always supplying me with books. Anyway, I have not read this one before, and I'm not quite halfway through with it, but I am really liking it so far. The prologue was a little gory but so far the book hasn't been. I can't really recommend it until I've finished with it.

I'm also leaving you with a question. I love to read and I'll pretty much read anything from any genre, although kids fantasy type books seem to be my favorite. What are your favorite books? I'm always looking for a good read, and I'm curious to see what all you people out there in blog land are reading.

Toilet trouble

First of all, No, this blog is not about Brian's lactose intolerance.

Ok, so the toilet is clogged. That will sometimes happen. We try and try and try to unclog it with the plunger. We finally figure that the plunger is not working correctly. Brian goes out and buys another one. More plunging, to no avail. Brian decides we need something stronger, and goes out and buys some clog remover to put into the toilet. Warning - must use heavy duty gloves and protective goggles to use this product. So he also buys said gloves and goggles. Guess what? It does not work! He finally asks my dad what to do. Dad suggests snaking the toilet. Brian goes back to the store once again and buys a toilet snake. Guess what? Still not working! At this point I am resigned to the fact that it will stay clogged forever.

So after 3 trips to the store and almost $50.00 spent, what do I have? A stupid toilet that is still clogged. Brian decides to go on line for help. Hallelujah, he found a solution. Do you know what it took? Dish soap. That's right, dish soap. He put some in the toilet, waited about 2 minutes, plunged again and what do you know, it worked. Why didn't he check on line in the first place? We could have saved ourselves $50.00.

Here is what I want to know: Is the dish soap thing common knowledge? I'd never heard of it before.

I feel Blah today. Do I really have to get ready and go to church? Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get over the Blah's?
